Soccer Game Preview: Lexington vs. Milan

The Lexington Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Milan Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Lexington came up short against Crockett County on Tuesday, falling 6-3. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Cavaliers: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Milan put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. Their defense stepped up to hand Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central a 9-0 shutout. Give the Bulldogs' defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Their offense was hitting Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. William Pickard led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Milan pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those three games. As for Lexington, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Everything went Lexington's way against Milan when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Lexington made off with a 5-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lexington since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
