Basketball Recap: Monday's Loss Ends Sidney's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Sidney unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 53-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stebbins Indians. The Yellowjackets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Indians earlier this season, when they won 47-42.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stebbins to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aubrey Fritz, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 boards. That's the most rebounds Fritz has posted since back in January of 2024. Eva Maddix was another key player, putting up nine points and five boards.

Sidney's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4. As for Stebbins, they pushed their record up to 12-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Sidney and Stebbins should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Sidney (ranked 169th) will meet Piqua (ranked 501st) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Stebbins will challenge Troy at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday up 395 places (258 vs. 653).
