Softball Recap: Brown County Takes a Loss

Brown County had lost five straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 2-12 to make it six. They came up short against the Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia Trojans, falling 14-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-2 last Monday.

As for Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by eight runs or more this season.

For Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia's part, Addilynn Tracy was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Tracy has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

In other pitching news, Kenzie Meyer looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Raye Greenstreet and Mylee Tracy did most of the damage at the plate: Greenstreet got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Tracy went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Greenstreet has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucie Dion, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Brown County has already played their next match (against Hamilton/Warsaw), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 10-0 win against North Greene on the 24th.
