Preview: El Dorado Cougars vs. Galt Warriors
El Dorado is 10-0 against Galt since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The El Dorado Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Galt Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
El Dorado suffered their closest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of Rosemont by a score of 59-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, Galt's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They were outmatched by Bradshaw Christian at home and fell 95-44. While losing is never fun, Galt can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1268th, while Bradshaw Christian is ranked 524th).
El Dorado's defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Galt, they dropped their record down to 3-17 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
Everything came up roses for El Dorado against Galt in their previous matchup on January 9th as the squad secured a 61-33 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for El Dorado since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
