Soccer Game Preview: Wellington vs. Royal Palm Beach

The Wellington Wolverines will face off against the Royal Palm Beach Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Royal Palm Beach took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Wellington, who comes in off a win.

Royal Palm Beach is hoping to do what Park Vista couldn't on Friday: put an end to Wellington's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Wellington blew past Park Vista 5-2. Given the Wolverines' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Cobras are ranked 262nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Royal Palm Beach was not quite Seminole Ridge's equal in the second half on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks.

Wellington is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those seven matches. As for Royal Palm Beach, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1-1 and their overall record down to 14-3-4.
