Baseball Game Preview: Sotomayor WILDCATS vs. Clark Cougars

For the second straight game, Sotomayor will face off against Clark. The WILDCATS are taking a road trip to challenge the Cougars at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Sotomayor has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Sotomayor heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Thursday. They fell just short of Clark by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the WILDCATS couldn't push the score so high this time.

For Clark's part, Ben Roska spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits. Roska has become a key player for the Cougars: the team is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 9-13 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Clark saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nate McDonald, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Clark hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 6-3 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Clark's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-14. As for Sotomayor, their loss dropped their record down to 18-8-1.
