Monmouth United won the last time they faced Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] and things went their way on Thursday too. The Red Storm were the clear victors by a 17-6 margin over the Spartans. The result was nothing new for the Red Storm, who have now won ten games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Kellen Boone was incredible, firing off two home runs and seven RBI while going 3-for-6. Those seven RBI gave him a new career-high. Ian Leffler was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Monmouth United lost a few balls and finished the game with five home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Monmouth United is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge], they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-12.
