Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Mammoth couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 3-1 to the Immanuel Eagles on Thursday. The Huskies' loss signaled the end of their 17-game winning streak.

Mammoth started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-18, 25-16, 25-10.

Greta Koehler paced Mammoth's offense, picking up 11 kills. Koehler got some help from Sophia Geffre and her 23 assists. Finally, Lyra Manning kept Mammoth's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Immanuel found their leader in sophomore Brooklynn Semper, who had 20 digs and four aces. With that strong performance, Semper is now averaging an impressive 10.2 digs per game.

Mammoth's defeat dropped their record down to 34-5-1. As for Immanuel, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 22-16.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Mammoth will be playing at home against California Academy of Math & Science at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Immanuel, they will host Urban at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
