Recap: Castle View Sabercats vs. Mountain Vista Golden Eagles
The Castle View Sabercats lost to the Mountain Vista Golden Eagles back in January of 2023, but the Castle View Sabercats didn't allow the Mountain Vista Golden Eagles the same satisfaction on Thursday. Castle View enjoyed a cozy 51-36 victory over Mountain Vista.
Leading Castle View to victory were Kenzie Tosch and Lizzy Mroz. Tosch scored 18 points along with seven assists, while Mroz dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mroz has scored all season. Scarlett Beerbower was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with ten rebounds.
Several Golden Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kennedy Spellman, who scored 14 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Grace Roscoe, who scored seven points along with 17 rebounds.
Castle View is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season. As for Mountain Vista, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.
Castle View will head out on the road to square off against Fossil Ridge at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Fossil Ridge is ranked 91st, while Castle View is ranked 94th). As for Mountain Vista, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Air Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Air Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
