Rocky Mountain hasn't had much luck against Owyhee recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Grizzlies will take on the Storm at 5:00 p.m. Owyhee took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Rocky Mountain, who comes in off a win.
Rocky Mountain is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Centennial, who was ranked 23rd at the time (Rocky Mountain was ranked 15th). The Grizzlies narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Patriots 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Grizzlies have posted against the Patriots since May 17, 2019.

Megan McCormick was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
McCormick wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Danica Quinn, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. That triple was Quinn's first of the season.
Meanwhile, Owyhee lost 8-2 to Eagle on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Storm have suffered against the Mustangs since March 31, 2023.
Grace Groulx made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
Rocky Mountain has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. Having lost for the first time this season, Owyhee fell to 23-1.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Rocky Mountain hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Owyhee struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Rocky Mountain couldn't quite finish off Owyhee when the teams last played back in April and fell 3-1. Can the Grizzlies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
