Volleyball Recap: Nevada Union Find Success + How To Watch

The Nevada Union Miners beat the East Nicolaus Spartans 3-1 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Miners.

Nevada Union had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 26-24, 25-16, 25-23.

Ashley Thompson paced Nevada Union's offense, picking up 13 kills. Thompson were helped by Ellyse Havlorson and Ashlyn Lampe, who contributed 15 assists each. Val Ramirez controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Despite the loss, East Nicolaus still got an impressive performance from Ashlynn Tagala, who had 24 digs and five assists. Tagala has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more digs the last four times she's played.

Nevada Union's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for East Nicolaus, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Nevada Union will host Bear River at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Nicolaus, they have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Red Bluff on the 23rd.
