Basketball Game Preview: Marion Local Flyers vs. St. Henry Redskins

The Marion Local Flyers will head out on the road to face off against the St. Henry Redskins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Marion Local has four straight victories, St. Henry has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Tuesday, Marion Local earned a 46-38 win over Fort Recovery. Given the Flyers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while the Indians are ranked 608th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, St. Henry came up short against Wapakoneta on Saturday and fell 54-45.

Marion Local will need focus on slowing down Brayden Heath, one of several St. Henry players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Jack Huelsman, who went 5 for 8 en route to 11 points.

Marion Local's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.2 points per game. As for St. Henry, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.

Marion Local was able to grind out a solid win over St. Henry in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 58-50. Will Marion Local repeat their success, or does St. Henry have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
