Baseball Recap: Ralston's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Ralston had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Mount Michael Benedictine Knights. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

Nick Benis looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brady Hines, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Sargent, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Ralston was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mount Michael Benedictine only posted a batting average of .208.

Ralston pushed their record up to 15-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Mount Michael Benedictine, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-12.

Ralston does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mount Michael Benedictine, they will welcome Raymond Central at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
