Softball Recap: Vista Ridge Gets the Win + How To Watch

Vista Ridge saw some tournament action on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Rock Canyon Jaguars 9-8. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolves.

Kaysen Morgan made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Morgan was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Aaliyah Garcia and Jocelynn Kalkman did most of the damage at the plate: Garcia went 5-for-6 with three runs and one triple, while Kalkman went 3-for-5 with four RBI and two doubles. That's the most runs Garcia has posted since back in October of 2024. Jaylani Jusino was another key player, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with two runs.

Vista Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They got six more hits than Rock Canyon's also-impressive total of 12.

Vista Ridge now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Rock Canyon, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Vista Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 9-0 defeat against Fruita Monument on the 22nd. As for Rock Canyon, they have also already played their next match, a 10-9 loss against Pueblo Central on the 22nd.
