Softball Recap: Upper Cape Cod RVT Takes a Loss

Upper Cape Cod RVT extended their losing streak to five on Wednesday, dropping them down to 1-5. They came up short against the Bristol County Agricultural Chieftains, falling 19-4. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chieftains apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Upper Cape Cod RVT saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Meadow Diede (Captain), who went 1-for-2 with one run.

As for Bristol County Agricultural, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The contest marked their most dominant victory of the season.

On Bristol County Agricultural's side, Ruth Fagundes spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. Those 12 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Fagundes.

On the hitting side, Autumn Nicholson was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five runs, and seven RBI. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Znoj, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Upper Cape Cod RVT is set to take on their familiar foe South Shore Vo-Tech at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Bristol County Agricultural will face off against rival Cape Cod RVT at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
