Volleyball Recap: Harlandale Gets the Win

Harlandale lost to Southside back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Indians came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 2-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.

Their offense was headlined by Mia Padron and Miria Barrientoz, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Jenna Sandoval and her 15 assists.

Southside's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gabriella Galindo, who had 11 assists and six digs.

Harlandale now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Southside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-10.

Harlandale will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Winn at 6:00 p.m. on September 2. As for Southside, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against McCollum on the 26th.
