Softball Recap: Waukesha South Blackshirts vs. Catholic Memorial Crusaders

Waukesha South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 11-7 to the Catholic Memorial Crusaders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Crusaders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-4 back in April.

Layla Amerling made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Chiara Browne was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Waukesha South's record now sits at 3-10. As for Catholic Memorial, their victory bumped their record up to 5-10.

When Waukesha South and Catholic Memorial next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Blackshirts will try to stop Riverside University/Meir's three-game winning streak when they meet at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Catholic Memorial will challenge Arrowhead and their seven-game winning streak at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
