Softball Game Preview: Lincoln Abes vs. Lakes Lancers

The Lincoln Abes will face off against the Lakes Lancers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lincoln has given up an average of 16.4 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lincoln took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They skirted past Bellarmine Prep 21-20.

Meanwhile, Lakes came up short against Silas on Tuesday, falling 18-7. The Lancers haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Lakes saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Quinn Stout, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another was Mercy Chukwu, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Lakes' defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Lincoln, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8.

Lincoln was able to grind out a solid win over Lakes when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 17-14. Will the Abes repeat their success, or do the Lancers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
