Softball Recap: North Creek Takes Down Ranked Richland

North Creek faced Richland in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Jaguars had just enough and edged out the Bombers 6-5. Winning may never get old, but the Jaguars sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Reagan Fleming made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off 11 hits. Fleming was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addy Cook, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Paige Geller was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

North Creek pushed their record up to 17-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Richland, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 13-1.

Coming up, North Creek will head out on the road to challenge Newport - Bellevue at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Jaguars will need to watch out since the Knights have now posted at least ten runs in their last four contests. As for Richland, they will head out to take on Jackson at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
