Soccer Game Preview: Bryant vs. Saraland

The Bryant Hurricanes will head out on the road to face off against the Saraland Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Bryant is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals on Thursday, they were much more limited against Baker on Tuesday. They came up short against the Hornets, falling 10-0. While losing is never fun, the Hurricanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Hornets are ranked ninth).

Meanwhile, Saraland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They lost 8-1 to St. Paul's Episcopal. That's two games in a row now that the Spartans have lost by exactly seven goals.

Saraland's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Bryant, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Bryant beat Saraland by a goal in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, winning 2-1. Will Bryant repeat their success, or does Saraland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
