Volleyball Game Preview: Windsor Charter Academy Firebirds vs. Mountain View Mountain Lions

The Windsor Charter Academy Firebirds will head out on the road to square off against the Mountain View Mountain Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Windsor Charter Academy came up short against Severance on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Firebirds in their meetings with the Silver Knights: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, after a string of ten wins, Mountain View's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Severance by a score of 3-2.

Mountain View wouldn't go down easily and took Severance into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 22-25, 14-25, 25-15, 18-16.

Windsor Charter Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Mountain View, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's game: Windsor Charter Academy hasn't let much over the net this season, having averaged 5.9 blocks per game. However, it's not like Mountain View struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.5 blocks. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
