Basketball Recap: East Gaston Takes a Loss

East Gaston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They took a blow against the Shelby Golden Lions, falling 51-12. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-5.

Reagan Lilja was East Gaston's leading scorer, having posted five points.

East Gaston's defeat dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Shelby, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Gaston will face off against Burns at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Shelby, they will square off against Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy comes in on seven and Shelby on three.
