Things were looking good for Natchitoches Central after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 42-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Captain Shreve. The Chiefs were up 14-0 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Despite the defeat, Natchitoches Central got top-tier performance from Owen Smith, who rushed for 48 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 216 yards and two touchdowns.

Natchitoches Central didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Imari Speed, Derrick Beaudion, and Dallas Demery picked up one apiece. Beaudion is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least seven every time he's taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Parkway strolled into their game last Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past Haughton 66-21. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Panthers just coasted through the last quarter.

This is the second loss in a row for Natchitoches Central and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for Parkway, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Natchitoches Central took a serious blow against Parkway in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, falling 40-12. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Chiefs were down 26-6.
