Basketball Recap: Jeremiah Harris' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Towson over Linganore

After flying high against Sparrows Point last Monday, Towson came back down to earth. The Towson Generals lost to the Linganore Lancers on the road by a 68-53 margin on Friday. The Generals were down 53-32 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Towson's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeremiah Harris, who posted 11 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Korey Collins, who had nine points in addition to six boards and four steals.

Among those leading the charge was Daveon Black, who went 6-for-8 en route to 15 points and seven rebounds. That's the most boards he has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Dylan Hodgson, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 16 rebounds.

Towson has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points over those games. The victory was the seventh in a row for Linganore, bringing their record for this year to 13-6.

Towson has already played their next game, a 73-36 win against Carver A&T on the 19th. As for Linganore, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 59-56 defeat against Tuscarora on the 18th.
