Basketball Recap: Katy Taylor Takes a Loss

Katy Taylor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt an 87-45 loss at the hands of the Seven Lakes Spartans. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 799th, while the Spartans are ranked 26th).

Katy Taylor's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Seven Lakes, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 14-3.

Katy Taylor will host Katy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Katy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests. As for Seven Lakes, they will venture away from home to square off against Jordan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Jordan has won four straight at home, while Seven Lakes won 13 straight on the road dating back to last season), something that'll have to change.
