Basketball Recap: Port Gibson Blue Waves vs. South Pike Eagles
Port Gibson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were dealt a 49-21 loss at the hands of the South Pike Eagles. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Waves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-34 back in January.
Ger'Kiya Flowers was Port Gibson's leading scorer, having posted 16 points. Destiny Neal held things down on the boards with five rebounds.
Port Gibson's defeat dropped their record down to 4-22. As for South Pike, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season.
Port Gibson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-54 loss against Franklin County on the 4th. South Pike does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
