St. Ursula Academy faced Archbishop McNicholas in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Bulldogs walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Rockets. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Rockets recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

While St. Ursula Academy might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Archbishop McNicholas scored at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-20, 19-25, 25-21.

Parker Terrill paced St. Ursula Academy's offense, picking up 12 kills. Terrill got some help from Lucy Waleskowski and her 40 assists. Emma Frietch controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Allie Runte and Ali Strange certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Runte had eight digs and four aces, while Strange had 31 digs and seven assists. Runte is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

St. Ursula Academy's victory bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Archbishop McNicholas, with the defeat, they broke their 13-match winning streak and moved their record to 19-2.

St. Ursula Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Walnut Hills at 6:00 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Archbishop McNicholas, they have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Talawanda on the 13th.
