Springville is a perfect 8-0 against Timpview since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Red Devils will challenge the Thunderbirds at 3:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Springville is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: North Sanpete, who was ranked 20th at the time (Springville was ranked 13th). The Red Devils fell 7-2 to the Hawks on Wednesday. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Springville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Allyx Haveron, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, Timpview came up short against Wasatch on Tuesday, falling 17-2. The Thunderbirds haven't had much luck with the Wasps recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Timpview's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Springville, their loss dropped their record down to 14-6.

Timpview's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Springville has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.9 hits per game. It's a different story for Timpview, though, as they've been averaging 9 hits. Given Springville's sizable advantage in that area, the Thunderbirds will need to find a way to close that gap.

Springville got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March against Timpview by a conclusive 14-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
