Baseball Recap: Austin Comes Up Short

Austin was the 5-0 winner over James Clemens when they last played one another on Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. The Black Bears took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jets on Saturday.

Tyler Parker was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season.

Austin has been struggling recently as they've lost 15 of their last 17 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-23 record this season. As for James Clemens, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-10 record this season.

Austin will square off against East Limestone at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for James Clemens, they will take on Priceville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.43 runs per game on average), something the Jets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
