Softball Game Preview: East Aurora Blue Devils vs. Olean Huskies

The East Aurora Blue Devils will venture away from home to take on the Olean Huskies at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

East Aurora's last matchup with Nichols could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Friday. The Blue Devils came up short against the Vikings, falling 13-5.

Meanwhile, Olean fell victim to Depew and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. That's two games in a row now that the Huskies have lost by exactly three runs.

Emma Edwards spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on 12 hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Olean saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Finch1, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Olean's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for East Aurora, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 0-2.

East Aurora suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Olean in their previous matchup back in May of 2022. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
