Basketball Recap: Jamison Menadue Key Part of a Team Effort in Eagles Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against McAuley Catholic, Golden City was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Exeter Tigers by a score of 58-47. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 55-41 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Golden City's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamison Menadue, who posted 15 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists. That's the most boards Menadue has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Spencer Parrill, who had 16 points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Golden City is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Exeter, their loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-12.

Golden City will square off against Jefferson Independent Day at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jefferson Independent Day is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.6 points per game this season. As for Exeter, they will challenge Spokane at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Exeter is facing Spokane at the right time seeing as Spokane is stuck on a 17-game losing streak.
