Softball Recap: Eagle Point Comes Up Short

Eagle Point extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping them down to 10-8. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Churchill Lancers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-0 on Tuesday.

As for Churchill, they pushed their record up to 19-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games.

For Churchill's part, Jaylee Litten spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up ten Ks. Litten has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 17 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Churchill saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abigail Wiscovich, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. Sienna Brown was another, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

While Eagle Point had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
