Basketball Recap: Shepherd Extends Winning Streak to 12

Shepherd hadn't done well against Columbus recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Shepherd Mustangs managed a 48-44 win over the Columbus Cougars. The victory was familiar territory for the Mustangs who have now won 12 contests in a row.

Shepherd's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 45.2 points. As for Columbus, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-5.

Shepherd wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 73-43 victory against Lame Deer on the 1st. Columbus has also already played their next game, a 58-34 win against Lodge Grass on the 1st.
