Softball Recap: Covenant Day Lions vs. Charlotte Latin Hawks

Covenant Day can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They never let the Charlotte Latin Hawks onto the board and left with a 2-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Covenant Day also won the last time the pair played on April 4th.

Not much got past Alison Vandiver, who gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks to keep Charlotte Latin off the board.

At the plate, Covenant Day's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kaitlyn Allen, who went 1-for-3 with a stolen base.

Even though they lost, Charlotte Latin didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with ten strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Covenant Day only tossed six.

Covenant Day's win bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Charlotte Latin, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Covenant Day will take on Providence Day at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Providence Day will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Covenant Day surely won't give up without a fight. As for Charlotte Latin, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Charlotte Country Day School at 4:30 p.m.
