Volleyball Recap: Payson Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Payson had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They blew past the San Tan Foothills Sabercats 3-0. That's more bragging rights for the Longhorns, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Payson took every set by at least 12 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-13, 25-11.

Darla Long paced Payson's offense, picking up 13 kills. Long got some help from Madi Plain and her 30 assists. Plain and Long didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with four apiece.

Payson's win bumped their record up to 16-3. As for San Tan Foothills, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.
