Softball Recap: Springfield Takes a Loss

Springfield was the 7-6 winner over Beavercreek when they last played one another on Wednesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Beavers on Friday.

Jalynee Thomas made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Castle, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Beavercreek, they moved to 8-13 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Coming up, Springfield will take on Northwestern at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Beavercreek, they will challenge Fairmont at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
