Volleyball Recap: Nerinx Hall Markers vs. Parkway South Patriots
Nerinx Hall was the 2-0 winner over Parkway South when they last played one another back in August of 2015, but their luck changed this time around. The Markers fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. While the Markers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Patriots 25-13 in the first set.
Nerinx Hall started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 13-25, 17-25, 25-18, 25-18, 15-13.
Their offense was headlined by Lauren Scheper and Josie LaRose, who picked up 13 kills apiece. They got some help from Sophia Berra and her 20 assists. Leah Stephens controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Parkway South to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lily Hennekes, who had 15 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Hennekes has posted over her last six matchups. Another player making a difference was Lucy Wright, who had 13 assists and seven digs.
This is the second loss in a row for Nerinx Hall and nudges their season record down to 12-20. As for Parkway South, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-9-4.
As of now, neither Nerinx Hall nor the Patriots have any future games scheduled.
