Basketball Game Preview: Piedra Vista Panthers vs. Cleveland Storm

Piedra Vista hasn't had much luck against Cleveland recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Piedra Vista Panthers will square off against the Cleveland Storm at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Piedra Vista is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Wednesday. They took a blow against Cibola, falling 85-49. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while the Cougars are ranked eighth).

Meanwhile, Cleveland came up short against Farmington on Wednesday and fell 76-68. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (65), the Storm still had to take the loss.

Cleveland's defeat dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Piedra Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 7-16.

Piedra Vista might still be hurting after the 80-58 defeat they got from Cleveland in their previous matchup back in January. Can Piedra Vista avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
