Softball Recap: Eagan Takes a Loss

Eagan couldn't beat Apple Valley on Wednesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Wildcats fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 7-6. Wildcats fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Eagles since on Wednesday.

Isla Loewblosser made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season. Taylor Bertrand was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Eagan's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Apple Valley, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 2-9.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Eagan is set to take on their familiar foe Shakopee at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Apple Valley will challenge rival Burnsville at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
