Softball Recap: Medicine Lodge Takes a Loss

Medicine Lodge extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 4-5 in the process. They lost 21-12 to the Cheney Cardinals. Even if the Indians couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Maryn Inslee led a balanced group of hitters, going 4-for-5 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Emery Shinliver, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double.

As for Cheney, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 4-0. Fans of they have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

On Cheney's side, the team relied heavily on Kendyll Walker, who went 5-for-6 with six RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Macey Batt was another key player, going 2-for-5 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Cheney beat Medicine Lodge by a score of 18-2 later that day.
