            Baseball Recap: Memphis East Mustangs vs. Melrose Golden Wildcats        
        
		
        
        
            Memphis East was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight  loss. They fell  13-9 to the Melrose Golden Wildcats. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their  defeat to the Golden Wildcats from their previous meeting  back in March of 2024.
  Jaiden Woodus was cooking despite his team's loss,   getting on base  in both of his plate appearances with two  stolen bases and two  runs. Another player making a difference was  James Kmet, who  went 1-for-3 with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI.
Memphis East's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Melrose, their win  ended  a  five-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 4-9.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Memphis East will head out to  square off against Trezevant  at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 9.2  runs per game this season. As for Melrose, they are taking a road trip to  take on Hamilton  at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday.
