Stanton County faced Southwestern Heights in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Trojans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over the Mustangs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Trojans have posted since March 31st.

Sidney Parks spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on 12 hits and racked up 11 Ks.

On the hitting side, Kynzi Fehringer was incredible, firing off two home runs while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Kaydence McCleary was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Fehringer wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Stanton County lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Stanton County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. Having lost for the first time this season, Southwestern Heights fell to 8-1.

Stanton County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mustangs: the pair will be back at it again later today.
