Football Game Preview: St. Marys Flying Dutch vs. Brockway Rovers + How To Watch

The St. Marys Flying Dutch are taking a road trip to face off against the Brockway Rovers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Marys will be strutting in after a win while Brockway will be coming in after a defeat.

On Friday, everything came up roses for St. Marys against Moniteau as the squad secured a 49-16 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Flying Dutch.

Brody Wehler and Bruno Stager were among the main playmakers for St. Marys as the former threw for 110 yards and three TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes and the latter rushed for 97 yards and one score on only six carries. Those three passing touchdowns gave Wehler a new career-high. Andrew Field was in the mix too, providing St. Marys with two touchdowns.

St. Marys didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Stager and Nico Assalone.

Meanwhile, Brockway played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Port Allegany, falling 48-22. While losing is never fun, the Rovers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 234th, while the Gators are ranked 93rd).

St. Marys' record now sits at 4-6. As for Brockway, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Saturday's contest might be decided in the trenches. St. Marys has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 157.4 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Brockway, though, as they've been averaging only 93 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?

St. Marys couldn't quite get it done against Brockway when the teams last played back in August as they fell 20-13. Can the Flying Dutch avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
