Baseball Recap: Clover Takes a Loss

Clover was the 6-1 winner over Nation Ford when they last played one another on Wednesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Blue Eagles fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 5-4 on Thursday.

Logan Satter was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in March.

On the hitting side, TJ McCluney was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-5 with four stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for Clover: the team is 8-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Anthony Marano was another key player, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Clover's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Nation Ford, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clover will head out to take on J.L. Mann at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Nation Ford, they will take on Parkwood in a tournament on Monday.
