Recap: SIUE East St. Louis Charter vs. Carlinville Cavaliers
SIUE East St. Louis Charter's's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They secured a 49-44 W over Carlinville. The score was all tied up 28-28 at the break, but SIUE East St. Louis Charter was the better team in the second half.
Despite the loss, Carlinville still got an impressive performance from Dom Alepra, who scored 23 points. The contest was Alepra's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sawyer Smith, who scored 3 points along with 13 rebounds and 4 blocks.
SIUE East St. Louis Charter's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Carlinville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
SIUE East St. Louis Charter is on the road again on Thursday and play against Freeburg at 7:30 p.m. on December 7th. Freeburg knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully SIUE East St. Louis Charter likes a good challenge. As for Carlinville, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Vandalia at 7:30 p.m.
