League recap: Winnfield bests Red River in blowout

2A District 3 recap Oct. 23, 2012

Winnfield took down Red River 68-12 last week, the largest margin of any game.

The Tigers led 2A District 3 in scoring this week after putting up 68 points on the Bulldogs.

Many's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Xavier Dias has thrown for 692 yards and eight touchdowns this season, while Chris Hopkins has 12 catches for 341 yards. Cortez Sweet leads the league in rushing with 1000 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Red River takes on Holy Savior Menard. Reginald Prealow's team is currently in fourth, while the Eagles are in second.

Many made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,487 from 8,304. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 34-7 victory over St. Mary last week.
