Volleyball Recap: Community Christian Academy Beats Jefferson Davis Academy for Their Fifth Straight Win

Community Christian Academy hadn't done well against Jefferson Davis Academy recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Ambassadors put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 3-0 win. This was payback for the Ambassadors, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

While Community Christian Academy might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Jefferson Davis Academy scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-23, 25-19.

Callie Moody paced Community Christian Academy's offense, picking up 11 kills. Moody really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 16. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Jefferson Davis Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was RYNN FICKLING, who had 12 digs, seven kills, six aces, and one block. She is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had seven or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was MATTIE MORRIS, who had 11 digs and five aces.

The victory (which was Community Christian Academy's fifth in a row) raised their record to 19-3. As for Jefferson Davis Academy, they dropped their record down to 12-11 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Jefferson Davis Academy has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Sandhills on the 16th. Hopefully Community Christian Academy paid attention to the Raiders' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
