Recap: Lower Brule Sioux vs. Crazy Horse Chiefs
The Lower Brule Sioux had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 42 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They secured a 53-49 W over Crazy Horse. This was payback for Lower Brule, who suffered a 75-49 loss the last time these two teams met.
Lower Brule got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Quentin McBride Jr out in front who scored 16 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Lane Gray, who scored 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Lower Brule is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Crazy Horse, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lower Brule will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Crow Creek at 8:00 p.m. on January 30th. Crow Creek is on a three-game streak of home wins, Lower Brule a four-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Crazy Horse, they will head out on the road to challenge New Underwood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
