Baseball Recap: Hilldale Takes a Loss

After flying high against Verdigris on Friday, Hilldale came back down to earth. The Hornets fell 9-6 to the Oktaha Tigers on Saturday. If the Hornets were looking for revenge after losing 8-0 to the Tigers when the teams met back in March of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Hilldale has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-8 record this season. As for Oktaha, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hilldale will venture away from home to challenge Poteau at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Pirates' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Hornets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Oktaha, they will challenge Warner at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The contest will give the Tigers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
