Charlotte Latin made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Sun Valley, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Charlotte Latin was the clear victor by an 11-3 margin over Sun Valley two weeks ago. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by eight runs or more this season.
Sydney Thune and Ainsley Sullivan made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Thune struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Sullivan struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. Furthermore, Thune didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Thune went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI, while Sullivan went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was Sullivan's first of the season.

In other batting news, Caroline Coble was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Talia Hawa was another key player, scoring two runs while going 4-for-5.
Charlotte Latin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Greater Cabarrus S came up short against Piedmont Community Charter on Tuesday and fell 10-5.
Julianne Throckmorton was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one triple. Another player making a difference was Cayla England, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Charlotte Latin's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Greater Cabarrus S, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
Wednesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Charlotte Latin hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .511. However, it's not like Greater Cabarrus S struggles in that department as they've averaged .394. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
